Santa Maria (formerly Bystander) was originally built for Henry Ford II. This classically designed Feadship was built in the mid 1960s and used extensively by the Ford family. A stable and seaworthy vessel with stunning lines, she retains the air of a gentleman’s motor yacht. Although comprehensively refitted, many of her original features remain in use today. In 1999 she undertook a world circumnavigation as the mother ship to the classic J-Yacht “Velsheda”, visiting the Caribbean, Panama, Galapagos, Tahiti, New Zealand, and returning via the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean. More recently, she was used daily during the 2007 America’s Cup where she supported Team New Zealand. Today she graces the Vieux Port of Cannes and is available for cruising the Western Mediterranean.
